What the map shows
A heatmap of all recorded crime and anti-social behaviour over the latest 12 months — hottest where incidents cluster (typically town and city centres), fading to clear in quieter residential streets. Switch to the Crime layer and search an address to zoom into a neighbourhood.
Where the data comes from
Street-level records from data.police.uk (Home Office) — the 43 England & Wales forces, the British Transport Police and the Police Service of Northern Ireland — published monthly, including the anti-social behaviour category alongside recorded crime.
Coverage and caveats
Covers England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Scotland is not included — Police Scotland does not publish to police.uk — so Scottish areas read as blank. Locations are anonymised “snap points” (each covering at least eight addresses), so the map is indicative, not an exact address-level record.

Where does the crime data come from?
Street-level records published monthly on data.police.uk by the Home Office, covering the 43 England & Wales police forces, the British Transport Police and the Police Service of Northern Ireland. The map shows the latest 12 months.
Does the crime map cover Scotland?
No. Police Scotland does not publish street-level records to police.uk, so Scottish areas appear blank on the crime layer. Every other layer on this site covers Scotland.
How exact are the crime locations?
Locations are anonymised “snap points”, each covering at least eight addresses, so the heatmap shows where incidents cluster rather than exact addresses. Treat it as indicative, not an address-level record.
What counts as anti-social behaviour?
Incidents police record as anti-social behaviour — nuisance, rowdy or inconsiderate behaviour that causes harassment, alarm or distress but is recorded separately from notifiable crimes. It is included in the heatmap alongside recorded crime.
